Although it has been behind for several years and there is a second generation, the Amazfit Bip of the branch Xiaomi continues to be one of the SmartWatch most appreciated and appreciated on the market, thanks above all to its ease of use and its much lower price than other devices of this type.
Of course, the Amazfit Bip is not without its problems. Having such simple software - especially when compared to other watches such as those based on the WearOS platform or the Apple Watch - involves some limitations that we would not find in other more expensive models. For example, the inability to restart the clock when it stops working or suffers from some kind of problem that prevents its normal use.
Fortunately, there are methods that allow to turn the Amazfit Bip off and on again when it has been locked.
Is your Amazfit Bip not working well? Then you can reset it
There are several situations that can cause the Amazfit Bip crash: an update that was not installed correctly or whose download is "suspended", problems with the software itself or any failure.
Unlike other devices, Amazfit does not include an option for reset the clock in the device settings, and then you need to resort to other methods to be able to turn it off and on again and hopefully troubleshoot. Depending on the situation, the process to follow will be different:
If the watch shows problems, but it continues to work
It's possible that your error is showing some kind of malfunction - such as notifications not arriving or apps not opening - but you can still navigate the different menus and interact with the watch software. In this case, there should be no problem a reset the clock manually:
- Unlock the watch face via the physical button located on the right side of the watch.
- On your face, swipe right from the left side of the screen and look for the "Settings" option.
- Go to the last available option by swiping up on the screen and tap "Power off". Now tap «Accept».
- Finally, turn the watch back on by long pressing the button on the side of the watch.
That's all. If everything goes well, the watch will work normally once it is turned on again. If the problems persist, it might be a good idea to use the next method.
If the watch has stopped working properly
Some watch owners have repeatedly reported how their Amazfit Bip was completely blocked and it was not possible to use it, as the screen stopped responding. Of course, in this situation it will not be possible to resort to the previous method since the possibility of accessing the watch menu to turn it off is excluded. Therefore, you have to go for a slightly more drastic option:
- On your mobile, open the Mi Fit or Amazfit application, depending on which one you use to synchronize the watch.
- Go to the "Profile" section and tap on your device name.
- Go to the bottom of the application and tap "Disconnect".
This way it will come removed the association between the watch and the mobile phone, e the Amazfit Bip should restart automatically. Now you can plug it back in and set it up without any problems.
