Apple launches AirTags

Apple introduced the AirTag, a small and elegant accessory that helps keep track of the most important items via the Search app.

Whether attached to bags, keys, backpacks or other items, AirTag uses the vast global search network to help locate a lost item, all while keeping the location private and anonymous with end-to-end encryption. AirTag can be purchased individually or in packs of four for just € 35 and € 119, respectively, and will be available from April 30th.

Lightweight design with magical settings

Each round AirTag is small and light, made of stainless steel and has IP67 water and dust resistance. The built-in speaker plays sounds that help locate the AirTag, while the lid makes it easy to replace the battery.

AirTag includes the same magical settings as AirPods - just hold the AirTag close to the iPhone to connect. You can then assign a name to identify it.

Customers can personalize AirTags with free engravings, including text and a selection of 31 emojis when purchased from the Apple Store or the Apple Store app.

Users can easily stow an AirTag in a bag or pocket, or use a wide range of Apple-designed accessories such as the polyurethane loop, which is both lightweight and durable, or the leather loop or leather keychain. made with european leather.

The closure of each accessory adapts perfectly to the AirTag, while remaining conveniently attached to the user's property, further customizing the AirTag so that it is never separated from the object we want to control.

A complete search experience

Once the AirTag is set up, it will appear in the new Items tab in the Search app, where users can view their current or last known location.

If a user misses an item and is within Bluetooth range, they can use the Find app to play a sound from the AirTag and help them locate it. Users can also ask Siri to find it and the AirTag will make a sound if it's nearby.

Each AirTag is equipped with an Apple-designed U1 chip that uses Ultra Wideband technology, which allows iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 users to use Precision Finding. As the user moves, Precision Finding merges information from the camera, ARKit, accelerometer, and gyroscope to guide them to the AirTag.

If the AirTag has been separated from its owner and is out of Bluetooth range, the search network can help you find it. The Find network approaches 1 billion devices and can detect Bluetooth signals from a lost AirTag and send the location to its owner in the background, anonymously and privately.

Users can put the AirTag in lost mode and be notified when it is in range or has been detected by the extensive search network. If someone finds a lost AirTag, they can touch it using their iPhone or any NFC device and it will be transported to a website where they will show the owner's contact number, if they have provided it.
