This application developed by the Israeli company Viber Media, at first it was exclusive to the iPhone, but today it is available on almost every platform. Although at first it was possible to write to only one user at a time, in 2012 the group and voice messaging service was implemented high definition.
Over time, the platform has become more popular and, according to the statements of its founder, today it has a database of over 200 million active users.
Create your Viber account
To get started you need to download the application and install Viber on your smartphone. You can download it in your application store or directly from the official Viber website. Once installed on your device, apri l'applicazione, authorize access to your contacts and fill in the telephone information according to your country.
After pressing the button Continue, you should wait a few minutes to receive an SMS with the confirmation code.
Now copy the code you received in the application and press continue. Choose a display name and start communicating with whoever you want.

Download and install Viber Desktop
Before installing the application on your computer, make sure you have it on your mobile device and that you have an active and verified account. Click the link to download Viber Desktop for Windows, Mac OS, Linux or Ubuntu. Run the installer and follow the wizard instructions.
At the end installation the application will open automatically and the question Do you have Viber on your mobile? Tap the Yes box.
By pressing the button you will be redirected to the insertion page of the QR code. To scan it, you need to open the Viber application on your mobile.
A QR code scanner should open automatically, point the camera to the QR code on your computer to start the synchronization.
In case the QR code scanner doesn't open automatically on your phone, you can do it manually by pressing the More button.
It's in the lower right corner of the screen, so hit the option QR code scanner at the bottom of the list. Eventually you will see a message telling you that you have successfully completed the process and can start using the application.
Just press the button Open Viber you see on the screen. By clicking on the contacts icon you can select one to start communicating.
Write your message in the blank field at the bottom of the screen and press the button airplane of card to send it. If you want to make a call or video call, press the corresponding button at the top of the screen. Remember that your contact must also have the Viber app and an account in order for the call or the video call is free.
Place the Viber icon on your PC desktop
In case when installing Viber Desktop the shortcut was not created on the desktop, you can do it manually.
In Windows you just have to go to the start menu, All Programs and keep clicking viber icon to drag it to the desktop.
Once there, release it to fix it; you will see direct access on your desktop from where you can access your application faster. On the other hand, if your computer uses macOS, the Viber icon will automatically appear in the application dock on the desktop.
If it wasn't added automatically, you just need to go to the program location, open the folder and drag the icon to your computer's dock.
