Until now, if you wanted to download the images you uploaded to Facebook, you basically had to do it one by one.
However, from now on, users with a Google "Photos" account can do an automatic copy and Facebook guarantees that it will soon be incorporating more services into the cloud.
This possibility is not only useful for those who decide to completely abandon the social network and want to have safe the images that one day they found interesting to share with their contacts.
It is also useful, even if you will continue to use Facebook, to have a backup of the images that you may no longer have on your phone and that were important to you at some point / and that is why you shared them.
How to transfer photos from Facebook to Google Photos
To transfer the photos you have on your Facebook profile to your Google Photos account, follow these steps:
Log into Facebook in a browser and click the arrow at the top right of the Facebook menu bar.
Select Settings

Click on your Facebook information

Find the option Transfer a copy of your photos or videos

You will have to choose what you want to do first. For some strange reason, Facebook has decided that it can't do both at the same time, so you'll need to select Photos or Videos first, then repeat for the other option.
As you can see, at the moment the only option is Google Photos, although Facebook ensures that it will incorporate new services (we trust iCloud is next).

You will need to authorize the communication gateway between Google and Facebook (a tense moment, no doubt), by entering your account and password in Google.

Once the communication between the two platforms is authorized, you have to click on the blue button that says “Confirm the transfer”.
When the transfer of photos from Facebook to Google is completed, you will receive an email confirming the success of the operation.

(You will also receive an email informing you that the transfer has started).
