Samsung's latest idea is to convert your TV boxes into animals

When buying a tech product, it usually comes in a cardboard box. This is the case with televisions, cell phones, tablets or any other device that comes to mind. The truth is that in the end, when you buy a lot of products, you end up keeping a lot of these boxes, so in the end the most appropriate thing is to proceed with recycling.

However, Samsung wanted to give its boxes a new use and for this reason they decided to organize a contest called Dezeen x Samsung Out of the Box. The idea was to use Samsung boxes and create figures with them. A very entertaining contest that produced authentic cardboard works of art.

Oddly, they are cardboard boxes from Samsung

Companies are increasingly interested in reducing waste in the packaging of their products and although Apple will be the first company not to include chargers in their devices, the truth is that it is still very difficult to do without cardboard boxes.

The imagination of the human being has no limits and facts like this confirm it. Hence the birth of this competition earlier this year and which was promoted by Samsung. The idea of this free contest with prizes up to $ 20.000, it was for the participants to design household items with cardboard boxes from their televisions. A total of 1554 people from 84 different countries participated in the competition.

As reported in Samsung Newsroom UK, the winners were Sarah Willemart and Matthie Muller, creators of Endangered Animals. For this they created with cardboard, figures of endangered animals that served as tables, stools, and even toys.

These drawings were intended for educational purposes to teach children about endangered animals. We are very interested in recycling, so we are very honored to be part of this project

As a result of the success of this competition, the South Korean company will provide instruction manuals for replicating the winners' creations and other selected projects. In this way, anyone who buys a Samsung TV will be able to use its box to try to give it a second chance, imitating the participants in this competition. The instruction manual will be downloaded via a QR code printed on the top of the boxes.
