How was Viber created?
The application was released on December 2nd 2019 and would only work for iPhones, the goal of this at the time was to make one direct competition with Skype, then its version for Android phones came out but only for 50 thousand users, then they removed this restriction and it was officially released on July 19, 2012.
It was later included in other systems such as Blackberry, Windows Phone among others. As of July 2012, the application had more than 90 million users. Later, Viber released a version for Linux, exactly in August 2013, albeit only for 64-bit systems.
In February 2014, the Japanese company Rakuten announced the purchase of Viber in the amount of 900 million dollars. Curiously, Rakuten, the current company that owns Viber, is the official sponsor of FC Barcelona, paying a fixed price of 55 million euros per season.
