Who created the Signal Private Messenger app? - The story behind the app
The Signal Private Messenger application was created and launched by a North American cybersecurity specialist or hacker known by his pseudonym Moxie Marlinspike, in May 2010.
The story of Signal began to develop and take shape when in 2010 Moxie Marlinspike in collaboration with robotics expert Stuart Anderson founded Whisper Systems and later in May of the same year they launched Signal, which it was originally called TextSecure.
At first, TextSecure was a fairly basic messaging app, but it already had a pretty good encryption algorithm, which has improved over time and is so much that Whisper Systems was acquired by Twitter on November 28, 2011.
