It is much easier and more reliable to connect the DualShock 3 to an Android phone if it is rooted. But don't worry, there is a solution for everything and even if you don't want or can't root your Android device, you can also enjoy your remote control on your mobile.
Connect DualShock 3 to Android without root
If you don't have root permissions, you can still connect the controller PS3 to your mobile device, although the process could be a little more complicated. For this you have to make sure that your phone has the USB Host function to be able to synchronize the devices. You will also need it to be compatible with USB OTG.
You will need to configure the Sixaxis Enabler application on your mobile phone to synchronize the control using the USB OTG cable. Then in the same app you have to choose Enable Sixaxis.
You'll activate control until you get to the process and you may have to do it multiple times so you'll want to arm yourself with patience. While you shouldn't have any kind of problem with the USB OTG cable, we have to keep in mind that some emulators can cause problems.
To solve this problem, we recommend that you download the USB / BT Joystick Center 2020 app and connect the controller to it. With this app you can map the buttons of the DualShock 3 and in this way you avoid any kind of problem.
How to connect PS3 controller to my Android
The first thing you will do is download the Sixaxis Compatibility Checker app. This is to verify that your device is compatible with a PS3 controller. The only problem is that you need to have the device rooted to carry out the process.
The application itself is not used only for checking compatibility. If not, it will also give you the Bluetooth connection address of the remote, so you need to write it down, as we will need it later.
To change this address, you will need to log in to Dancing Pixel Studios website and download the Sixaxis PairTool application which will allow you to enter the Bluetooth address we wrote down in the previous step.
Here you will need to use a USB cable to connect the PS3 controller to your computer. When we do this, Windows will download the drivers for that control and you can then change the Bluetooth address via the app we downloaded earlier.
Connect the PS3 controller to the Android device
