Whenever that I go to Instagram and one thing closes me if I was clear and it is for one of these reasons:
- The application needs to be updated.
- You need to update your Android system's Webview to the latest version.
- You have problems with the application cache.
For this reason, below I will explain the steps I follow every time Instagram closes for me, in case one method doesn't work for you, just move on to the next
Reboot the device
If the instagram opening closes, the first thing we should do is restart the our Smartphone. Yes, it may seem simple but as a general rule we usually don't restart the phone for days so we don't close the background applications and in the long run the device tends to fail. If after restarting the mobile I enter Instagram and it closes again, let's go directly to the next step.
Update Instagram to the latest version
Always keep Instagram updated to the latest version available in the Google Play Store, for this you just have to follow these steps.
- Go to Play Store > My Apps & Games > Updates.
Update WebView to the latest version
In some cases, not having the component Webview updated to the latest version can cause arrest of some apps like TikTok, Brawl Stars or Gmail. To update it, I recommend you follow the instructions in these 2 tutorials:

If all the above steps didn't work for you and Instagram keeps crashing on Android only, one method that usually works a lot is to delete application data and cache. To do this, the first step will be to enter the phone settings.
So let's log in «Applications».
In «Applications» we search for «Instagram», once identified we enter inside.
In this screen call «About the application» we will have to enter "Archiving".
Here we go all the way down and do the following:
- We empty the cache.
- We delete the data.
When you click to clear data, a message will appear saying that we will lose the entire application database, don't worry, this action does nothing but clean and leave the Instagram application as factory, all our data and photos will be on our Instagram account. All we have to do is re-enter the app and log in with our account.
