Apple buys Dark Sky

There will be no changes to Dark Sky's iOS app, which will remain on sale (its price in the US App Store is $ 3,99).

Currently, data for the Weather app on iOS is obtained directly from The Weather Channel.

Being an app with a limited geographic scope, this is probably why Apple doesn't integrate it directly into its Weather app. Once they see how it can be extended around the world, we could see significant improvements in reliability.

To know the weather forecast in Spain, we recommend the official application of AEMET (State Meteorological Agency).

Dark Sky displays updated weather forecasts based on your location, hourly weather forecasts for the next day and week, weather animations and notifications, including rain start alerts and bad weather alerts.

It also has a widget for the day, a Time Machine feature for knowing what the weather was like in the past, and an Apple Watch app.

Dark Sky for Android and Wear OS will disappear on July 1, 2020. The Dark Sky API (used by other weather forecast apps) will work until the end of 2021.
