Apple, Laurene Powell and Leonardo di Caprio together to launch America's Food Fund

America's Food Fund is an initiative designed to try to ensure that everyone has reliable access to food in the United States.

The initiative is hosted on the GoFundMe fundraising platform and will benefit hunger organizations World Central Kitchen and Feeding America.

Apple, Powell Jobs, DiCaprio and the Ford Foundation have donated a total of $ 12 million to start the action, and now the public can make their own donations.

World Central Kitchen is helmed by Spanish chef José Andrés, who recently attended alongside Oprah Winfrey and Feeding America CEO Claire Babineaux-Fontenot on their initiative. You can watch it for free in the “Oprah Talks COVID-19” show on Apple TV +.

Before the pandemic, America's Food Fund assures that there were more than 37 million people in the United States who didn't know how they were going to get their next meal. The donation page is here.

The collapse of the North American welfare state is felt when in the last week more than 6,6 million citizens have joined the unemployment. This leads to ten million unemployed in two weeks.

If you take into account the lack of public coverage (health, social protection, etc.) it is easy to understand that in a short time many people will have a really bad time.
