Apple is funding the Redford Center Stories Challenge, an environment-focused film competition created by actor Robert Redford's educational film production organization.
Apple and the Redford Center have partnered to launch the second annual Film Contest.
The Redford Center was founded by Robert Redford (84) and his son James Redford, who passed away in October 2020 at the age of 58. It is a non-profit organization that produces documentaries to educate the public about caring for the environment. Through this organization, James Redford produced one of his most famous works, Happening: A clean energy revolution.
This is a project aimed at young filmmakers who will use Apple's Clips app, and is focused on raising awareness of environmental issues.
The jury will be composed of Lisa Jackson, Apple's vice president of environment, policies and social initiatives.
According to Variety, Apple's participation is integrated into the Racial Equality and Justice Initiative.
