Moving text
Adobe InDesign is, without a doubt, a very interesting program for the amount of things you can create within it. This time you can learn something about the creating moving text on a path.
To do this, you will use the text tool on path, which you can find in the ribbon on the left side of the screen. These texts can be added to stroke lines as well as to the stroke of a shape.
How to use this tool?
To select the tool, go to the ribbon of Adobe InDesign on the left side of the screen, click on the text tool (identified with a letter T), hold down the left mouse button and select the option of the text tool on path.
Enter text on the path
The procedure is really simple, interesting and fun. To start creating and inserting a path or path text, you just need to follow the instructions below:
- Hover over the line where you want to insert the text. At this point it is important to note that although you can insert text anywhere on the line you want, the pointer is what will indicate if you are well positioned, showing a plus sign (+) on it.
- Having already selected the area of the row where you want to write, click to start writing or even paste the text you want to insert.
Enter fake text
If you want to do a little test to see how the text would look on the line, you can also right click on the line and select the option "Fill with fake text".
Adobe InDesign will then insert a short text above the line. If you want the text to cover the entire length of the line, simply repeat the procedure.
Change the layout of the text
In the options panel displayed at the top of Adobe InDesign, you have the different tools available for change the text size, font style, color, among other options.
Fade the lines
If you want the text to take a certain shape but is not seen, in some way, obscured by a very conspicuous border, you can make the lines on which you have entered the text disappear.
To do this, in the text editing panel, you can also remove the edges of the object you are typing on and only a blue line will appear, but when saving it will be totally invisible and will only be text.
Other tools
There is a wide variety of options that this program makes available to you for refine the design and creation process in which you are. For this type of work you can also:
- Reduce the space between characters in corners and curves. Select the text and go to the Text tab, locate the option " Text on path ", insert " options And finally play with the spacing tool.
- In this same window you can flip the text. To do this, check the Flip box and it will show you what the text would look like.
- Define the text effect: rainbow, tilt, 3D shape, pitch and gravity. So you have an interesting set of options to explore.
- Change the start or end position of the text with the Direct Selection Tool by clicking on the text and dragging it to where you want to place it.
