If we waste time, we begin to create 3D effect spheres decorated with symbols in Adobe Illustrator. And for this, we need to create the symbols that we will use later in order to be able to map the illustration. It is important to keep in mind that to fill an object with the 3D effect of an image, that image must be stored in the symbols panel.

We can create this symbol in the way we like or convenient, we suggest you do it on a complete sheet and be large, so that it can cover the whole sphere. But as we have already told you, you can do it however you like. Next we'll show you how to make one in the example below that will cover the entire sheet.

We will go to the tools menu and select the Rectangles Tool option and create one from the top corner to the bottom corner of the same side. This can be an inch wide, now we duplicate it and hold down the Alt key and take it to the other side of the sheet.

Create symbols to create spheres with 3D effects

These two rectangles can add or change the color, so in effect this, we choose the selection tool to create several specific rectangles.

Now we double click and a box will appear, where we are going to specify that they have 15 separations. We click on the Preview option and then OK, now we will have several colored stripes on our sheet.

These will be the color we choose and the white color, now let's go to the main menu and choose the Object tab. Then we select the Fusion option and then Expand, so that the rectangles are individually. Now let's go to the Effect tab, click, then Fuck and then the Inner Glow option.

Then in the window of this option we click on Preview and then on Ok, now let's rotate our image 45 degrees. And finally we will drag it into the symbols panel, add a name and click the Ok option. Now we delete this image from the sheet, we will create the spheres, for this we go to the toolbox and choose Ellipse.

Let's create a circle on the sheet, then set the fill color as the outline color, then select the direct selection tool. To suppress half of the circle and get a semicircle, we copy it two or three times. We select the first semicircle, then we go to effect, then we select the 3D option and finally Rotate.

Then the rotation options window will pop up and we will click on the Preview option and select the option as well Map illustration. And in the symbols we will look for the symbol we created in the first part of the tutorial. And now let's click the Change Scale option to adjust.

We can also select the Invisible geometry option for see what our sphere looks like, in the dialog we can rotate the symbol so that it is the way we want.
