But if it weren't for my hobby of downloading and testing most of the new apps that have landed on Google Play, I probably wouldn't have discovered what they have become this year. 5 of my new must-have apps. Those who spend years in the same folder on their mobile home screen.

Arrival

After using AfterShip for a long time to track my shipments, this was the year I found the perfect alternative. It is about Arrive, a shipment tracking app created by Shopify, which came to Android in the middle of the year.

The application has a modern design, offers support for the vast majority of national and international shipping companies, and offers interesting features such as the ability to track shipments without having to add them ourselves to the app thanks to synchronization with our inbox., real-time map updates and more.

Il download at Arrive is Free subscription and does not include in-app payments or advertisements of any kind.

For months I have been trying different apps with which to keep track of my personal finances. During this time I tried alternatives like Spendee or Wallet until I ended up using Money Lover. However, I have finally found my favorite option within this category: Bluecoins.

It is true that it is not a new application. But it's one of the most complete in its category, but still easy to use. In addition, in its premium version it offers the ability to import data from other applications via CSV files - comma separated values -, which makes switching from another app to Bluecoin much easier.

Among its many functions is the possibility of create several different accounts, each in their own currency - including cryptocurrencies - * or the ability to set budgets to know how much money we should allocate each month to each category. There are also options to create your own categories, schedule weekly, monthly or yearly expenses, automatically generated budgets and much more.

Enhanced

And if it is important to control money, controlling the time is even more so. There are many productivity apps on the Google Play Store, but Boosted has become my favorite of all.

Selected by Google as one of the best Google Play apps in 2019, Boosted allows us to keep track of the time we spend doing each activity during the day, to check on which ones we spend the most hours and if we are distributing in the most appropriate way.

The best is that you can create the activities you deem appropriate. So, for example, you can check which subjects or projects you are spending the most time on, and see detailed statistics that include our most productive day of the week, the hours dedicated to each task of each activity, or plan the next projects thanks to the integrated calendar. Again, it's a totally free app. In addition, it offers the sync in Google Drive to be able to use it on multiple devices at the same time while keeping the data.

In bundle

If you feel that Google Keep is not a sufficiently comprehensive note app, you should try Bundle. This app for lists, notes and writing bases its operation on a format of “packages” or bundles. Within each of them, we can add our notes classified by colored labels.

In addition to its format, the app stands out for having a fantastic design. Also, it has support for the Markdown language, which made it the my favorite tool when it comes to writing draft articles, analyzing or just jotting down ideas.

Note that, for now, the app is in beta. However, it can be downloaded for free via Google Play and by testing new features that its developer frequently introduces.

Hobby

Another app not exactly new, but one that I was lucky enough to discover this year was Hobby. It is an application that allows you to keep track of the series we have seen, the ones we are watching and the ones we want to see.

Hobi includes a panel trends from which to discover the series of the moment for the rest of the users, countdown and notifications for the premiere of new episodes of our favorite series and much more. In addition, it is synchronized with Trakt.tv so that you can create a backup or restore display series data on any device.

Pass2Pay

Until the day Google Pay will allow you to import tickets, loyalty cards and all kinds of tickets without the need for third-party tools, I'm afraid that Pass2Pay has a vacuum gained in the memory of my mobile.

Its operation is simple: Pass2Pay allows us to import any type of ticket, subscription or card into our Google Pay “wallet” as long as it is in pkpass, PDF or via photograph. It also offers the possibility to generate passes manually, by entering the data ourselves.

Refind is another of the relatively new apps that has already earned a spot on my must-have list. And is that sometimes it is impossible to keep up to date with all the news on the topics of our interest, so it can be useful to resort to an application that does the work of collecting the most relevant stories for us.

Refind ci It allows select our topics of interest and Web pages for which we have the greatest predilection. In this way, every day at the time we decide, the app will collect the 10 most interesting articles, which we can read, share or save for later.

Furthermore, the app offers us the possibility of mark whether or not we liked the selected articles every day, so that day after day the selection is ever closer to our tastes and interests.

gorgiera

Along with Bundle, ruff is the other application that makes up my toolset when I write from my smartphone. The winner of one of the 2019 Material Design Awards for its innovative design is the my favorite option when it comes to writing quick drafts and then export them to finish formatting them in other tools.

Unlike other apps of this type, ruff focuses on offering an extremely simple experience, where creating a new text document is as quick and easy as open the app and start typing words. No unnecessary settings or additions.

However, it is a more complete application than it may seem at first glance. It has support for text formatting, automatic saving and restoring progress, or the ability to export, share, copy or save each of the texts that are written.
