The mobile version of Google Chrome continues to receive new features. After introducing features such as featured text links, the browser now introduces a new useful tool that will help users know when one of their favorite products has dropped in price.
This feature has been launched and is available since version 90 of Google Chrome for Android, although it is mandatory for use to activate it manually.
The Google Chrome browser icon.
Enabling Google Chrome price alerts on Android.
As they have on Android Police, the Google Chrome price alert feature is inherited from the same option included in the Google Shopping app, which stopped working by decision of the company.
Its implementation is somewhat curious: Once price alerts are enabled, Chrome will display a warning when the price of an open product changes in a browser tab.... In the event that the tab is closed, Chrome will stop tracking price changes and we will not be notified when the price goes up or down.
To enable this feature, you have to go to the browser's experimental options or the "flags" menu. Specifically, you must go to the option identified as "chrome: // flags / # enable-tab-grid-layout", and from the menu choose the option Price notifications enabled. So there are just a few simple steps to follow see price alerts:
- After enabling the above option in Chrome, restart your browser.
- Open the tabs page by tapping the square icon located at the top right, right next to the search bar.
- Now tap the three-dot icon in the upper right corner and in the menu, tap "Price Tracking".
- Activate the price tracking option.
This way, if the price of one of the products open on a price card drops, Chrome will alert you with a notification. If you want to stop receiving notifications for a specific product, simply close that card.
